Dr. John Knight, PT, DPT
John hails from the Midwest, where he grew up exploring nature and competing in tennis, ultimate frisbee, and ski racing. His experience as a ski racer led him to work as a ski instructor in Germany, where he developed a passion for coaching and strength training that continues to shape his clinical approach today.
John earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO, and his Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance from the University of Montana in Missoula, MT. He specializes in orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation, with advanced training as a certified Dry Needling Specialist and Active Release Technique provider for the spine and neck. His background in movement analysis and strength training allows him to deliver individualized, performance-driven care for complex orthopedic and neurological conditions.
John takes a whole-body, systems-based approach to care, using pain and movement as entry points to identify root causes across the kinetic chain. He views rehabilitation as a starting point to not only resolve symptoms, but to build long-term orthopedic, metabolic, and cardiovascular health.
His treatment combines manual therapy, progressive strength training, and behavior-focused coaching to address system-wide contributors to pain and performance. Drawing from his experience working with older adults, he identifies patterns associated with aging and helps clients of all ages build resilience, prevent injury, and maintain high levels of function across their lifespan.
Outside of the clinic, John enjoys exploring the mountains through downhill and Nordic skiing, mountain biking, and disc golf, as well as playing guitar and spending time with friends.
Clinical philosophy
“I treat the body as an integrated system, using pain and movement as entry points to address underlying contributors across the kinetic chain. Care extends beyond rehab into proactive management of orthopedic, metabolic, and cardiovascular health, using targeted strength training, manual therapy, and behavior-focused coaching to reduce long-term risk of chronic disease and build a durable foundation for lifelong health.”
